Aperture Photo Club

Community & Submission Rules

To maintain a high-quality, inspiring, and deeply respectful environment for all our members, everyone must strictly adhere to our platform's submission and community guidelines. First and foremost, all submitted photographs must be your original work. Plagiarism or the unauthorized use of another artist's imagery will result in an immediate, permanent ban from the club. We currently accept standard web-friendly image formats, specifically JPEG, PNG, and WebP, to ensure maximum compatibility across all devices. To keep our servers running smoothly and our page load times fast, we require that all individual image files be compressed to under 5 Megabytes (MB) in size. Photographs that are artificially generated by AI software are strictly prohibited in the standard photography categories, as we celebrate traditional lens-based art.

Furthermore, we ask that all interactions within the club—whether you are providing feedback, voting, or participating in forum discussions—remain highly constructive and polite. Harassment, derogatory comments, or inappropriate content will not be tolerated under any circumstances. When submitting your photographs, please ensure they are correctly categorized (for example, placing wildlife photos in the Nature category, not Architecture) to maintain an organized and enjoyable browsing experience for everyone. Minor digital enhancements, such as color correction, dodging, burning, and cropping in software like Lightroom or Photoshop, are perfectly acceptable and expected. Excessive photo manipulation that completely alters the reality of the scene should be clearly disclosed when you submit.
